Risk disclosure
Last updated 26 September 2026. Digital and tokenized assets are high-risk. Only use funds you can afford to lose entirely. This list is not exhaustive.
1Market risk
Prices can move sharply and quickly. Tokenized assets can trade at a premium or discount to the underlying, especially outside the underlying market's trading hours or when liquidity is thin.
2Issuer and custody risk
Each tokenized asset depends on its issuer and custodians. Insolvency, fraud, operational failure, regulatory action or a decision by the issuer can lead to the token being frozen, paused, redeemed at a loss or becoming worthless. Redemption may be limited to eligible holders and specific hours.
3Smart contract risk
Tokens, routers, bridges and exchanges are software. Bugs, exploits, upgrades or admin actions can cause partial or total loss of funds, even in audited code.
4Bridge and cross-chain risk
Transfers between networks rely on third-party bridges and solvers. They can be delayed, fail, be refunded in a different asset, or be exploited.
5Liquidity and execution risk
You may receive less than quoted because of price movement, slippage or fees, or be unable to sell when you want. Quotes and routes are estimates until confirmed on-chain.
6Network risk
Blockchains can become congested, halt or reorganise. Network fees vary and are paid even when a transaction fails.
7Wallet and key risk
Anyone with your seed phrase or private keys controls your funds. Lost keys cannot be recovered, and transactions sent to a wrong address cannot be reversed. Beware of phishing: Totum will never ask for your seed phrase.
8Regulatory risk
Laws on digital assets and tokenized securities differ between countries and change often. Access to an asset or to Totum may be restricted or withdrawn, and you are responsible for your own tax and legal obligations.
9Information risk
Data shown on Totum comes from third parties and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Pages marked as preview contain illustrative figures. Always verify details in your wallet before signing.
